Dr. Simona Vrabcova

Higher Education Strategist & Study in Europe Expert

Dr. Simona Vrabcová was born in Slovakia and completed her higher education in the United Kingdom, where she lived for a decade. After earning her PhD at the University of Warwick, she taught at several UK universities, supporting students as they developed their academic skills and confidence. Her journey in international advising began at a major Central European counselling centre, where she guided hundreds of students through programme selection, university applications, and preparation for studying abroad.

As a British Council Certified Higher Education Counsellor, Dr. Vrabcova works with students and families to navigate their pathways into UK and European universities. She takes a personal approach, guiding students through the process of choosing the best course and university to match their strengths, goals, and future career aspirations. By combining practical admissions expertise with real international experience, she offers clear, tailored, and supportive guidance to help students make confident decisions about their educational future

Dr. Gabriela Bereghazyová

Director of Global Slovakia, Educator & Cultural Connector

Dr. Gabriela Bereghazyová is a Slovak educator and cultural connector whose work focuses on bringing Slovakia closer to people around the world. As Director of Global Slovakia, she helps create educational and cultural projects that explore Slovak identity, heritage, history, and belonging. Her approach is rooted in storytelling, making complex cultural and historical themes feel personal, human, and accessible to learners from different backgrounds.

At GSU, Dr. Bereghazyová supports students who want to understand Slovakia beyond the surface. Through her work, she helps Slovaks, Slovak descendants, and globally curious learners reconnect with the country through its stories, people, culture, and place in the wider world. By combining education with cultural insight and a strong sense of purpose, she encourages students to see Slovakia not only as a destination, but as a meaningful part of their personal and global journey.

Vladimír Štrama, PhD Candidate

Historian & Central European History Educator

Vladimír is a historian specializing in Eastern and Central European history, with a strong academic background from leading universities in the United Kingdom. He completed his BA in Philosophy and History at the University of Exeter and later earned his MSt in Modern European History at the University of Oxford. His academic work explores the historical forces that have shaped nations, identities, and political ideas across Central and Eastern Europe.

Before joining GSU, Vladimír worked as a researcher at Institute H21 in Prague, where he further developed his interest in democracy, geopolitics, national identity, and myth-making. At GSU, he brings a clear, structured, and accessible teaching style, helping students connect academic research with a broader public understanding of history. His lessons are designed for learners who want to understand Slovakia and the region not only through events, but through the ideas, conflicts, and stories that shaped them.

Rebeka Jurcackova

Slovak Cultural Coach & Heritage and History Educator

Rebeka Jurcackova is a Slovak Cultural Coach and expert in Slovak history and culture. Her work is dedicated to bringing Slovakia’s rich heritage to life through storytelling, cultural education, and meaningful personal connection. With her background in art, guiding, and cultural interpretation, she helps learners experience Slovakia not only as a place, but as a living culture shaped by history, traditions, landscapes, and people.

At GSU, Rebeka offers students an engaging and accessible way to explore Slovak culture. Her teaching connects historical knowledge with visual storytelling, local insight, and real cultural experience, making her classes especially valuable for learners who want to understand Slovakia beyond textbooks. Through her warm and creative approach, she helps students feel closer to Slovakia, whether they are reconnecting with their roots, preparing to visit the country, or simply curious about its heritage.

Vladimira Kasikova

Slovak Language Instructor

Vladimíra is a highly experienced Slovak language instructor with over 20 years of experience teaching foreigners how to speak Slovak with confidence. Her teaching focuses on making the language practical, clear, and accessible, helping students move beyond memorisation and start using Slovak in real-life situations. With her structured approach, she supports learners at different levels as they build stronger grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and communication skills.

At GSU, Vladimíra creates a relaxed, supportive, and motivating learning environment for students who want to enjoy the process of learning Slovak. Her lessons combine clear explanations, cultural insights, conversation practice, games, and interactive activities, turning even challenging material into something approachable and rewarding. Through her patient and engaging teaching style, she helps students feel more confident, connected, and inspired in their Slovak language journey.

Silvia Feldmanová

Slovak Language Instructor

Silvia is a dedicated Slovak language instructor with 13 years of professional experience teaching foreigners. With a degree in Slovak language and literature from the University of Prešov, she brings both strong academic knowledge and practical teaching expertise into every class. Her lessons are designed to make Slovak clear, engaging, and enjoyable, especially for learners who want a supportive and dynamic way to start speaking the language.

At GSU, Silvia uses interactive methods, custom-made materials, games, cards, newspapers, and creative activities to keep lessons lively and effective. Her teaching style is warm, playful, and student-focused, making her classes ideal for curious learners who may not enjoy rigid grammar drills but still want real progress. By combining structure with creativity, she helps students build confidence while enjoying the process of learning Slovak.

Edita Bugata

Slovak Language Instructor

Edita Bugata is a Slovak language educator with a background in teaching and language education from Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia. Having studied, lived, and worked abroad in Spain, Cuba, and Canada, she brings a truly international perspective to her teaching. Her experience across different cultures allows her to connect naturally with students from around the world and understand the challenges of learning a new language.

At GSU, Edita makes Slovak feel approachable, engaging, and connected to real life. Trained in Neurolinguistic Programming, she combines interactive, visual, and game-based teaching methods to help students learn in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. Her classes are ideal for learners who want more than grammar rules — they want confidence, connection, and a positive learning experience that helps them stay motivated.
