MEET THE FOUNDERS
Dr. Zuzana Palovic
Founder
Dr. Zuzana Palovic is a Slovak-born scholar, six-time published author, founder, and educator focused on migration, citizenship, identity, and belonging. Raised in Canada and the United States, she has lived in ten countries across four continents and holds degrees from institutions in North America and Europe. Her work highlights Slovakia’s cultural, historical, and political evolution while advancing understanding of Slovak heritage, diaspora identity, and citizenship through her role as founder of Global Slovakia. Through Global Slovakia University, she creates accessible learning experiences that connect students to Slovakia, Europe, and a deeper understanding of their place in the world.
Dr. Simona Vrabcova
Founder
Dr Simona Vrabcová is a Slovak-born higher education strategist, researcher, educator and British Council Certified HE Counsellor, specialising in international student mobility, European degree pathways, partnerships and cross-border collaboration. She holds a PhD in Cultural Policy from the University of Warwick. With over 10 years of experience across the UK and Central Europe, she has worked with over 70 institutions. She is also a member of the international network of leading experts at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center. At Global Slovakia University, she brings together her expertise in higher education strategy, Slovak cultural identity and European degree pathways to support students succeeding in academic opportunities across Europe and beyond.
