Global Slovakia University (GSU) is the educational arm of Global Slovakia NGO - an online academy connecting people with Slovakia and Europe through high-quality learning experiences.
Why We Created GSU
Global Slovakia University was created as a dedicated home for Global Slovakia’s growing educational work. Building on more than a decade of connecting people with Slovakia, GSU brings its courses, language learning and European education guidance together under one platform.
It allows us to offer deeper, more structured learning experiences that help individuals and families reconnect with their heritage, understand Slovakia and discover new opportunities across Europe.

MEET THE FOUNDERS
Dr. Zuzana Palovic
Founder
Dr. Zuzana Palovic is a Slovak-born scholar, six-time published author, founder, and educator focused on migration, citizenship, identity, and belonging. Raised in Canada and the United States, she has lived in ten countries across four continents and holds degrees from institutions in North America and Europe. Her work highlights Slovakia’s cultural, historical, and political evolution while advancing understanding of Slovak heritage, diaspora identity, and citizenship through her role as founder of Global Slovakia. Through Global Slovakia University, she creates accessible learning experiences that connect students to Slovakia, Europe, and a deeper understanding of their place in the world.
Dr. Simona Vrabcová
Founder
Dr. Simona Vrabcová is a Slovak-born researcher, higher education strategist and educator with over 10 years of experience across the UK and Central Europe. She holds a PhD in Cultural Policy from the University of Warwick, where her research explored cultural diplomacy, national identity and how Slovakia and its Central European neighbours represent themselves internationally. She has taught at leading UK universities and worked with more than 70 educational institutions. Through Global Slovakia University, she shapes programmes and partnerships that help people learn Slovak, explore the country’s history and culture, reconnect with their heritage, and discover educational opportunities across Europe—building meaningful, lasting connections between Slovakia and its global community.
